This unique cartridge features an ultra-low mass, undamped generator and a unique rhomboid pivot for the cantilever, powered by a bespoke Neodymium magnet system exclusively designed by Rega. The exclusive design demands an expertly engineered cartridge body, which is one of Rega's acclaimed specialities.
Constructed using 40% glass and Polyphenylene Sulphide (PPS-Fortron), an unusually hard and stable material resistant to dimensional changes post-moulding, the complex Ania body is perfectly moulded, meeting the standards naturally expected from a brand with over forty-four years of experience in creating superior audio equipment.
The Ania cartridge body, with its intricate design, presented a significant challenge to the Rega engineers and their chosen toolmakers. However, their unwavering dedication and the exceptional skills of the toolmakers, using the precise Swiss EDM CNC machines, have resulted in an artisanal work of art that meets the inimitable Rega standards.
The Ania MC Cartridge boasts high specification stainless steel inserts, alongside the tried and true high-performance elliptical stylus cantilever. The stylus hosts a diamond-tipped, low mass moving coil generator assembly, which collectively deliver superior musicality, speed, clarity, and detail unprecedented at this price range.
Additionally, the Ania boasts an iron cross and micro coil assembly, becoming one of the world's smallest MC generators and packing a cutting-edge neodymium magnet. With a nominal output voltage of 350μV, an output impedance of 10 ohms, and a tracking pressure ranging between 1.75 - 2.00g, it achieves an unbeatable balance and separation.
Moreover, the Ania MC caters to adjustable MC stages with specific load settings for impedance and capacitance. Its gain setting is strategically placed on the 'On' position for Rega phono stages.
