  • Cable Trade-In Terms & Conditions

    1. Introduction

    • 1.1 These terms and conditions ("Terms") govern the Cable Trade-In program ("Program") offered by The Audio Tailor (ABN 19 120 360 974, "we", "us", or "our") to its customers ("you" or "your").
    • 1.2 By participating in the Program, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

    2. Eligibility

    • 2.1 The Program is open to all customers who have purchased cables from any brand.
    • 2.2 Cables can only be traded for other cables.
    • 2.3 The new cable must have a recommended retail price ("RRP") at least 2.5 times the RRP of the traded-in cable.
    • 2.4 The cable brand must still be in business at the time of the trade-in.

    3. Trade-In Value

    • 3.1 Cables under 3 years old may be eligible for up to 75% of the original purchase price.
    • 3.2 Cables between 3 and 7 years old may be eligible for up to 65% of the original purchase price.
    • 3.3 Cables over 7 years old may be eligible for up to 50% of the original purchase price.
    • 3.4 The final trade-in value will be determined by The Audio Tailor based on the following factors:
      • (a) Finish quality
      • (b) Sound performance
      • (c) Included accessories and packaging
      • (d) Remaining warranty
    • 3.5 The trade-in value may be reduced in the following circumstances:
      • (a) No original packaging: 5% reduction
      • (b) Minor wear and tear on terminals: 5% reduction
      • (c) Minor scratches or marked cable exterior: 5% reduction
      • (d) Original receipt not available: 20% reduction from the average RRP over the model's lifespan
    • 3.6 Cables with damage affecting performance or non-functioning cables may be ineligible for trade-in.
    • 3.7 Cables which are no longer a current technology such as SVHS, Ipod, Older HDMI, some USB or other outdated styles or versions may not qualify for the trade in program. If you are unsure simply contact us and we will more than happy to help.

    4. Trade-In Process

    • 4.1 To participate in the Program, you must deliver your cables to The Audio Tailor's premises at Unit 9/20 Rivergate Pl, Murarrie QLD 4172.
    • 4.2 The Audio Tailor reserves the right to refuse a trade-in or to adjust the terms if the cable does not meet the required standard.

    5. Freight Charges for Trade-In Deal

    • 5.1 The Audio Tailor reserves the right to charge freight costs for the delivery of new cables purchased as part of a trade-in deal.
    • 5.2 Freight charges may apply in cases where:
      • (a) The traded-in cables are significantly smaller than the new cables purchased; and
      • (b) The new cables are to be delivered to a remote area, resulting in higher shipping costs.
    • 5.3 The Audio Tailor will inform the customer of any applicable freight charges prior to finalising the trade-in deal.
    • 5.4 The customer will have the option to accept the freight charges and proceed with the trade-in deal or to cancel the transaction.
    • 5.5 If the customer accepts the freight charges, they will be added to the total cost of the trade-in deal, and the customer will be required to pay the freight charges in addition to any remaining balance on the new cables.
    • 5.6. If the customer chooses to cancel the transaction due to the freight charges, The Audio Tailor will return the traded-in cables to the customer at the customer's expense.

    6. Disclaimer of Warranties

    • 6.1 The Program is provided "as is" and without any warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
    • 6.2 The Audio Tailor makes no representations or warranties regarding the Program's accuracy, reliability, completeness, or suitability.

    7. Limitation of Liability

    • 7.1 The Audio Tailor's aggregate liability arising from or related to the Program shall not exceed the trade-in value of the cable.

    8. Indemnification

    • 8.1 You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless The Audio Tailor, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from or related to your participation in the Program or breach of these Terms.

    9. Force Majeure

    • 9.1 The Audio Tailor shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, such as natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, or internet disruptions.

    10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

    • 10.1 Any disputes arising from or related to the Program shall be resolved through mandatory arbitration in accordance with the rules of the Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (ACICA).
    • 10.2 The arbitration shall be conducted in Brisbane, Queensland, and the arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding on both parties.

    11. Entire Agreement

    • 11.1 These Terms constitute the entire agreement between the parties regarding the Program and supersede all prior or contemporaneous agreements, representations, or understandings, whether written or oral.

    12. Severability

    • 12.1 If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

    13. Privacy

    • 13.1 The Audio Tailor will collect, use, and disclose your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available at https://www.theaudiotailor.com.au/pages/terms#privacy

    14. Amendments

    • 14.1 The Audio Tailor reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time without prior notice. The amended Terms will be effective immediately upon posting on our website.

    By participating in the Cable Trade-In program, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
