Unleash a new world of sound with the AE1 Active Bookshelf Speakers from Acoustic Energy. This product, fiercely crafted for the modern audiophile, redefines the power and capability of compact audio systems. Drawing from over three decades of impeccable engineering, we introduce the AE1 Active - a self-sufficient, standmount speaker that not only integrates top-of-the-line class A/B amplification and fully active filter networks but also features Acoustic Energy’s trailblazing pure piston ceramic aluminium cone technology. This cutting-edge design ensures unrivalled audio performance, perfectly harmonising refinement and impact.

What truly sets AE1 Active apart is the incorporation of our proprietary aluminium dome tweeter, designed specifically to optimize both coverage and room integration through Acoustic Energy’s unique WDT waveguide. With the AE1 Active, the mundane is transformed into the extraordinary, turning every note, every chord, and every beat into a captivating auditory experience. Each speaker is fully bi-amped with two 50 Watt class A/B amplifiers, exploiting our expertise in the active studio monitor sector and lending exceptional dynamics and unparalleled amplifier speaker integration. Coupled with a wide bandwidth range and adjustable bass and treble, the AE1 Active is not just a speaker; it is a testament to the evolution of acoustic technology - a sonic sensation built to stimulate and inspire, whether in your home or in a studio setting. Witness an immersive soundscape unfolding from its compact form, a true testament to the AE1 Active's ability that surpasses that of passive speaker/ external amplifier set-ups. The AE1 Active isn’t simply a speaker - it is a symphony of sound coming alive.

AE1 Active powered speaker features:

1. Tweeter: The AE1 Active features a perfectly balanced, in-house designed 27mm metal dome tweeter. Paired with AE’s Wide Dispersion Technology (WDT) waveguide, it ensures impressive soundstage and harmonious integration with the mid/bass driver.

2. Drivers: Uniquely designed with a pure piston ceramic aluminium cone, the stiffness to mass ratio in this fifth-generation 125mm hard-anodised spun aluminium cone considerably enhances the speaker efficiency, negating cone flex and breaking the stereotypical results of paper and plastic cone designs.

3. Amplification: The AE1 Active is an all-analogue design, boasting the best-in-class wired analogue inputs, both balanced XLR and standard RCA, along with the highest quality linear power supplies and two pair-matched, high-performance 50 Watt Class A/B amplifiers per speaker.

4. Cabinet: The cabinet design incorporates expertly braced heavyweight fibreboard construction with internal damping panels. Additionally, it introduces a slot port to the AE1 design for the first time, offering unmatched cross-sectional area, reduced baffle space, and significantly reduced wind noise at high volumes.

5. Advanced Specifications: Known for its impressive drive unit and 25mm aluminium dome tweeter, the AE1 Active exhibits a broad Frequency Range from 42Hz – 28kHz +/-6dB, demonstrating the top-notch capacity of the speaker. This efficient system offers a peak SPL of 115dB and a maximum SPL of 105dB, with a powerful 100w Class A/B amplifier with a linear power supply.

6. Other Features: It comes with RCA and Balanced XLR inputs alongside volume adjustability from 0dB to -inf, an HF shelf of +/-2dB, and an LF shelf of +/-2dB. The IEC C13 power connection, the switchable 110/240v voltage, and Safety Certification CE EN55013/20 all contribute to the sterling reputation of these speakers.

AE1 Active powered speaker benefits:

1. Superior Sound Quality: Experience the extraordinary audio performance resulting from the unique blend of innovative technologies in the AE1 Active, from the metal dome tweeter to the ceramic aluminium sandwich cone.

2. Unrivalled Amplifier Speaker Integration: The AE1 Active utilises the benefits of fully bi-amped Class A/B amplification, lending vastly improved dynamics and speaker integration.

3. Tailored Sound Settings: The AE1 Active offers the extra advantage of defeatable +/- 2dB trims for bass and treble response, allowing listeners to adjust the sound to fit their individual preference.

4. Versatility and Convenience: The AE1 Active integrates seamlessly into any setting—whether it's your home or a studio—thanks to a choice between RCA or balanced XLR connections and adjustable bass and treble.
