- The S3 Servo Mechanism: Unlike multi-purpose universal computer or Blu-ray drives, the CXC utilises Cambridge Audio’s state-of-the-art S3 Servo. This mechanism is engineered specifically to spin audio CDs at the exact, precise speed needed for error-free data retrieval and industry-leading jitter rejection.
- Digital Purity: By omitting an internal DAC and its associated analogue circuitry, Cambridge Audio isolates the fragile digital signal from potential electromagnetic interference, ensuring maximum sound quality when paired with a high-end DAC.
- System Integration: The CXC is visually and functionally designed to match the rest of the CX Series 2 ecosystem. It includes "Control Bus" connections on the rear panel, allowing it to sync power states and share a single remote control with companion devices like the CXA61 or CXA81 integrated amplifiers
Because it is a pure transport, it does not contain an internal digital-to-analogue converter (DAC) or analogue outputs; it outputs a clean digital signal that must be connected to an external DAC, a DAC-equipped integrated amplifier, or a digital receiver.
