The Lehmann Audio Rhinelander is a high-quality solid-state headphone amplifier designed for audiophiles seeking precise, natural sound reproduction in a compact form. Built in Germany, the Rhinelander draws on the design philosophy of Lehmann Audio’s renowned Linear amplifier, delivering refined performance and careful component selection at a more accessible level.
Featuring an audiophile-grade voltage amplifier stage and a low-noise regulated power supply, the Rhinelander offers a clean, detailed presentation with excellent balance across the frequency spectrum. Its adjustable gain (6 dB or 20 dB via internal jumpers) allows it to pair effectively with a wide range of headphones, from low-impedance models to high-impedance studio classics.
The amplifier includes two gold-plated RCA inputs with relay-controlled switching, a precision volume potentiometer with accurate channel tracking, and a high-quality Neutrik 6.35 mm headphone output. With a frequency response extending from approximately 10 Hz to 35 kHz and a signal-to-noise ratio above 95 dB, it delivers clear dynamics, tight bass, and excellent spatial detail.
Encased in a minimalist aluminum chassis, the Rhinelander reflects Lehmann Audio’s focus on understated design and performance-driven engineering. Despite its compact footprint, it provides the transparency, control, and musical engagement expected from a serious desktop headphone amplifier.
