Arcam marks 50 years of exceptional amplification with the A50 Signature — a landmark integrated amplifier that honours the legacy of one of Britain's most storied audio companies while making a bold statement about where it is going. From its beginnings as A&R Cambridge in the 1970s, Arcam has been defined by a commitment to music through engineering integrity and a distinctly British sound. The story began in September 1976 with the launch of the original A60. Half a century later, the A50 Signature honours that legacy while looking firmly to the future.

Created in collaboration with Arcam co-founder John Dawson, the A50 Signature reflects a shared belief that great audio design must remain relevant to how people listen today. Rather than recreating the past, it is designed for modern music enjoyment in all its forms — from high-resolution streaming and HDMI eARC TV audio to CD and vinyl. Digital or analogue, it connects effortlessly to the sources that matter most, placing the listener at the centre of the experience.

Arcam's First Dual-Mono Class G Integrated Amplifier

At the heart of the A50 Signature is a landmark engineering achievement: Arcam's first ever dual-mono Class G integrated amplifier. Developed from nearly two decades of Class G expertise, the A50 Signature delivers exceptional power, clarity and control, with each channel built as a fully independent amplifier. This dual-mono architecture eliminates crosstalk between channels and provides each side of the stereo image with its own dedicated power supply and amplification circuit — the same philosophy used in the finest separate monoblock designs, realised within a single elegant chassis.

Class G amplification intelligently steps between voltage rails as the signal demands, combining the efficiency of Class D with the sonic character of Class A/B — delivering powerful, dynamic sound with exceptional control and authority over any loudspeaker load.

With 150W per channel into 8Ω and 220W into 4Ω, the A50 Signature drives loudspeakers with effortless composure across the full dynamic range of any music.

ESS ES9039Q2M DAC — The Best Sound from Any Source

The A50 Signature's digital section is built around the ESS ES9039Q2M DAC — a flagship-grade chip from ESS Technology renowned for its exceptional resolution, ultra-low noise and natural musical character. USB-C input supports sample rates up to 384kHz and 352.8kHz at 32-bit — among the highest digital input resolutions available in any integrated amplifier. HDMI eARC provides a single-cable connection to televisions for high-quality audio from TV, streaming services and set-top boxes. All other digital inputs support up to 192kHz/32-bit.

The result is a digital section with a signal-to-noise ratio of 110dB A-weighted — ensuring that streaming, computer audio and television content are reproduced with the same clarity and presence as the finest analogue sources.

Class A MM & MC Phono Stage — Vinyl with Any Cartridge

The built-in phono stage operates in Class A for maximum purity, and supports both Moving Magnet and Moving Coil cartridges — making the A50 Signature compatible with virtually any turntable and cartridge combination. With a 47kΩ input impedance and RIAA-accurate frequency response across 20Hz–20kHz, it extracts the full musical potential of vinyl with exceptional warmth, detail and dynamic expression.

Wired & Wireless Headphones

The A50 Signature supports both wired and wireless headphone listening. A dedicated headphone amplifier output delivers up to 2.5V RMS into 32Ω and 5V RMS into 300Ω, with a load range of 16Ω to 2kΩ covering virtually every headphone on the market. For wireless listening, Bluetooth 5.4 with Auracast allows simultaneous transmission to multiple Bluetooth headphones — an extraordinary convenience for shared private listening.

Snapdragon Sound & Auracast — The Best Wireless Audio

Arcam has integrated Qualcomm Snapdragon Sound technology into the A50 Signature, delivering support for the most advanced Bluetooth audio codecs available: SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD and aptX Lossless — the first lossless Bluetooth codec, delivering CD-quality audio wirelessly with zero compression artefacts. Auracast broadcast audio enables simultaneous connection to multiple Bluetooth receivers, whether headphones or speakers.

Bluetooth 5.4 with LE Audio and A2DP Sink/Source, AVRCP and BLE ensures the A50 Signature is future-proofed for the continued evolution of wireless audio standards.
