The Acoustic Energy AE2 40th Anniversary is a limited-edition high-end stand-mount speaker created to celebrate one of Acoustic Energy’s most revered loudspeaker designs. Developed from the heritage of the original AE2 Signature, this premium 2-way speaker combines classic British hi-fi character with modern driver technology, advanced cabinet engineering and exceptional dynamic capability.

Designed for music enthusiasts who want the scale and authority of a compact floorstanding speaker without sacrificing the imaging precision and placement flexibility of a stand-mount design, the AE2 40th Anniversary delivers deep bass extension, strong midrange clarity and an open, detailed treble response. It is an excellent choice for serious stereo hi-fi systems in larger listening rooms, particularly spaces above approximately 25m².

The speaker features a 29mm anodised aluminium dome tweeter with a larger voice coil and ferrofluid cooling for controlled, low-distortion high frequencies. Two newly developed 125mm spun aluminium mid/bass drivers use hard-anodised ceramic-coated cones to improve rigidity, efficiency and airflow, helping the AE2 produce fast, articulate bass and impressive dynamic headroom.

A carefully engineered low-order crossover preserves musical timing and coherence, delivering a natural midrange, powerful dynamics and a lively, engaging presentation across a wide range of music. The triple reflex-ported cabinet is constructed from Acoustic Energy’s RSC™ constrained-layer HDF and bitumen material, with internal bracing and strategically positioned steel plates to reduce cabinet resonance and unwanted colouration.

Finished in either High Gloss Walnut veneer or High Gloss Black, the Acoustic Energy AE2 40th Anniversary is a refined statement loudspeaker for listeners seeking premium bookshelf speakers with exceptional scale, punch and musical realism.
