Our thoughts

Reverse Wrap cabinet engineering, scaled down to a centre channel built to partner the 803 D4 and 804 D4 in a theatre system.

The cabinet is a single continuous curve of wood with the drive units at its heart, a stiffer structure aimed at resisting mechanical resonance. The Continuum midrange, with Biomimetic Suspension, is decoupled from the bass drivers, with the intent of keeping dialogue separate from low-frequency energy in busy soundtracks. Finishes run to gloss black or white with a black or grey grille, and at 25.15kg it is a substantial unit, with stands not included.

Despite its smaller size, this speaker shares the sophisticated design and advanced technology of its larger counterparts, including the Reverse Wrap cabinet and Matrix™ bracing. These innovations work together to deliver a quieter, more acoustically efficient, and superior sound experience.

Innovative Reverse Wrap Cabinet

Our Reverse Wrap cabinet design sets the HTM82 D4 apart. Unlike conventional loudspeaker boxes, our cabinets are crafted from a continuous curved section of wood, with the drive units positioned at the heart of the curvature. This stiffer, more inert structure effectively resists mechanical resonances and ensures better sound dispersion.

Advanced Continuum™ Cone Midrange

The Continuum cone midrange, introduced in 2015, has quickly become a cornerstone of every Bowers & Wilkins loudspeaker. Known for its exceptionally low noise, it provides outstanding resolution without coloration or masking of detail, ensuring pure and accurate sound reproduction.

Decoupled Midrange Assembly for Clarity

The HTM82 D4 features a dedicated midrange cone utilising three key Bowers & Wilkins technologies: the Continuum cone, Biomimetic Suspension, and midrange decoupling. This design minimizes interference from the bass drivers, resulting in remarkable clarity and precision.
