Dedicated surround decoding that sits ahead of separate power amplifiers, so Dolby Digital and Pro Logic can be added to a hi-fi system without rebuilding it around a receiver.
The 5.1 RCA pre-outs hand each channel, subwoofer included, to an external amplifier, so power and speakers can be chosen to suit the room. Optical, coaxial and analogue RCA inputs keep existing sources connected, and the Dolby Digital, Pro Logic, 3-Stereo and Stereo modes route multichannel discs, Pro Logic sources and plain stereo through the same unit. The design intent is low distortion and wide dynamic range at the digital input, so the decoding stage stays transparent ahead of whatever amplification follows.
Best suited to a stereo system that is being extended into multichannel, where the amplification and speakers are chosen on their own terms. Our team can talk through amplifier matching and how the speakers suit your room, by phone or in person.
