The flagship of the SoundWire range. The EGM Eclipse combines 6.0mm² silver-plated OFC active and neutral conductors, FEP insulation, RS-150 silicone vibration damping, 100% foil + 85% OFC braid dual shielding, and EGM's 3rd generation silver-plated copper terminations — in a 17mm bright green silicone sheathed cable engineered for reference-grade systems and the highest-current power applications. Recommended minimum length: 2 metres.

The Flagship. Engineered Without Compromise.

The EGM SoundWire Eclipse is the culmination of EGM's power cable engineering — a reference-grade instrument built for those who understand that the power cable is not an accessory but a fundamental component of the audio system's performance. Eclipse is designed for the highest-current power applications: reference monoblock amplifiers, Class A power amplifiers, premium power conditioners, and high-current AC regenerators where voltage stability, current delivery, and electrical cleanliness directly determine the system's sonic ceiling.

Pick the Eclipse up for the first time and its intent is immediately apparent. At 17mm outer diameter, with two 6.0mm² active and neutral cores — each capable of carrying 30 amperes — and three 2.5mm² earth conductors, it is massively overspecified by conventional standards. That overspecification is the point. An Eclipse-connected amplifier or power conditioner never wants for current. Voltage drop is vanishingly small. The instantaneous current demand of a Class A amplifier at full drive, or the inrush demand of a large power conditioner, is met without hesitation or lag. The electrical foundation beneath the system becomes, for the first time, genuinely solid.

Five Conductors — 6.0mm² Silver-Plated OFC

At the heart of the Eclipse are five extra-fine stranded Class 5 Oxygen-Free Copper (OFC 99.9%) conductors manufactured with ASTM B298 Class B silver plating — providing a minimum 2.5% conductivity increase over bare copper, along with enhanced corrosion resistance and improved high-frequency current transfer associated with the skin effect.

The Active and Neutral conductors each measure 6.0mm² — providing an extremely low-resistance current path with high current-carrying capacity and minimal voltage drop under sustained load. Three Earth conductors at 2.5mm² each provide a robust, low-impedance ground path. All five conductors maintain exceptional flexibility and long-term reliability — the Class 5 fine-stranded construction ensures the Eclipse can be routed through demanding installations without fatigue or brittleness.

FEP Insulation — One of the Industry's Lowest Dielectric Constants

Each conductor is individually insulated with Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene (FEP) — one of the audio industry's most highly regarded dielectric materials, chosen for its exceptionally low dielectric constant and minimal dielectric losses. Where conventional PVC insulation absorbs and releases electrical energy — introducing timing distortion and degradation into the signal path — FEP insulation causes far less energy storage and release, preserving the integrity of the power waveform. FEP also offers outstanding thermal stability (operating range -10°C to +200°C), high insulation resistance, and exceptional resistance to moisture, chemicals, and ageing.

PE Dielectric Filler & RS-150 Silicone Vibration Damping

A precision Polyethylene (PE) dielectric rope filler maintains conductor geometry within the cable core — preserving the circular profile, minimising conductor movement, and reducing dielectric interaction between conductors for consistent electrical performance. Over the insulated conductors, a high-flexibility RS-150 silicone elastomer vibration-damping layer provides mechanical isolation before the shielding system — absorbing and dissipating vibration that would otherwise couple into the conductors and introduce noise into the power delivery.

Dual-Layer Shielding — 100% Foil + 85% OFC Braid

The Eclipse's shielding system combines two complementary approaches for broad-spectrum EMI and RFI protection. A 100% coverage aluminium/Mylar foil shield provides highly effective suppression of high-frequency electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference — the switching noise, Wi-Fi radiation, and digital hash that pervade the modern home environment and infiltrate audio systems through the power line. Over the foil, an OFC 99.9% copper braided shield with minimum 85% coverage provides effective low-frequency EMI shielding, a low-impedance earth path, and enhanced mechanical durability — completing a shielding system that delivers exceptionally clean and stable power to any connected component.

RS-150 Silicone Outer Sheath — 17mm, Bright Green

The Eclipse's RS-150 high-flexibility silicone elastomer outer sheath — rated to 180°C — provides outstanding flexibility alongside exceptional resistance to UV exposure, ozone, moisture, oils, acids, and industrial chemicals. The sheath is halogen-free and flame retardant, engineered for long-term performance in demanding environments. At 17mm outer diameter and finished in a distinctive bright green, the Eclipse is as visually striking as it is technically accomplished — a cable whose appearance communicates its engineering intent clearly.

EGM 3rd Generation Silver-Plated Copper Terminations

The Eclipse is terminated with EGM's best 3rd generation silver-plated copper pins, housed within thickly moulded vibration-resistant barrel ends. The terminations reflect the same commitment to electrical performance and long-term reliability as the cable itself — ensuring the conductor's quality is carried through to the connection point without compromise.

Recommended Applications

  • Reference monoblock power amplifiers
  • Ultra-high-power stereo power amplifiers
  • Class A and Class AB amplifiers with high continuous current demand
  • Large integrated amplifiers
  • Reference power conditioners
  • High-current AC regenerators
  • Premium power distribution units
  • Large active loudspeakers
  • Reference home theatre power amplifiers
  • Professional mastering systems requiring maximum power stability
  • Low-noise source components: projectors, TVs, streaming transports, DACs, CD players, turntables

EGM recommends a minimum length of 2 metres for best performance.

🏆 EGM 3rd Generation Terminations — 17mm Silicone Sheath

EGM's best silver-plated copper terminations in vibration-resistant moulded barrel ends — paired with a 17mm RS-150 silicone outer sheath rated to 180°C, resistant to UV, ozone, moisture, oils, and chemicals.

Editorial Blockquote

"Eclipse is EGM's brand-new top-performing flagship design and is rather special. Holding the cable in your hands, you will be surprised and aware of the substantial weight of this thick and heavy cable — it feels insanely overspecified and can instantly transmit lots of AC current to your amplifier or device without any hesitation or lag." — EGM Audio
