Estelon was founded in Tallinn, Estonia in 2010 by Alfred Vassilkov, a loudspeaker designer with decades of experience who wanted to build speakers that were simultaneously world-class acoustically and genuinely beautiful as objects in a room. The result is a range of loudspeakers whose curved, marble-based cabinets are unlike anything else in high-end audio — not as a stylistic statement, but because the curved, resonance-free enclosure is the engineering solution that Vassilkov believed produced the best sound. Every Estelon speaker is built by hand in Tallinn by a small team of craftspeople who treat each pair as a commission, not a production run.

ENGINEERING PHILOSOPHY

The fundamental engineering insight behind every Estelon design is that a loudspeaker cabinet should be acoustically inert and mechanically stable — and that achieving this with conventional materials and rectangular shapes requires compromises that ultimately colour the sound. Estelon's curved enclosures, constructed from a proprietary composite material with a marble base, eliminate internal standing waves and provide a mechanical grounding that allows the drivers — sourced from the finest European manufacturers — to operate with complete freedom. The crossover networks are point-to-point wired, using components chosen for their sonic character rather than their specification alone. What you hear from an Estelon speaker is not the cabinet. It is the music.

Design Philosophy: Sound in Harmony with Space

At Estelon, loudspeakers are conceived to work with the room, not against it. Every surface—walls, floors, ceilings, furnishings—plays a role in shaping how music is perceived.

AURA is engineered to interact naturally with its surroundings, creating a soundstage that feels balanced, lifelike, and emotionally engaging.

• Low frequencies behave like air pressure rather than directional sound. Positioning the woofer close to the floor allows for even bass distribution and improved room coupling.

• Above 100 Hz, sound becomes more directional. Grouping the mid-woofers and tweeter higher on the cabinet reduces reflections and stabilises the stereo image.

This room-aware approach ensures consistent performance across a wide variety of living spaces.

Advanced Cabinet Technology

The Estelon AURA features a sealed-box cabinet constructed from a thermoformed mineral-filled composite. Its flowing, curved surfaces eliminate parallel walls, reducing standing waves and internal resonances.

Driver Configuration & Placement

The AURA is a 3-way loudspeaker system featuring four carefully matched drivers, each installed in a sealed, damped chamber optimised for its specific role.

• Woofer:
  250 mm hard-pressed paper cone from FaitalPro, downward-firing and positioned in the base for even, room-filling bass dispersion.

• Mid-woofers:
  2 × 132 mm Egyptian Papyrus fibre drivers from SB Acoustics Satori, renowned for low distortion, tonal realism, and natural midrange reproduction.

• Tweeter:
  25 mm textile dome from the Scan-Speak Illuminator series, mounted in an elliptical waveguide for smooth dispersion and precise high-frequency imaging.

This configuration delivers coherence, musical flow, and an engaging soundstage that feels expansive yet controlled.

Precision Crossover Design

The Estelon AURA crossover network is engineered for accuracy, musicality, and long-term stability.

• Second-order crossover slopes

• Crossover points: 75 Hz and 2.3 kHz

Premium components include:

• Air-core and iron-core inductors

• Auricap and Jantzen capacitors

• Mundorf bifilar resistors

Each crossover is hand-assembled using point-to-point wiring and housed within the woofer chamber to isolate it from vibration and microphonic effects. Internal cabling is supplied by Kubala-Sosna, ensuring excellent signal integrity and transparency.
