The DMP-A8 Gen 2 continues with the proven combination of the AK4191EQ digital processor and AK4499EXEQ DAC — a separated digital processing and analogue conversion architecture that allows each stage of the signal path to be optimised independently for maximum precision. A fully balanced analogue preamplifier architecture and precision R-2R volume control system ensure stable dynamic performance and natural tonal layering across all volume levels.
Decoding capability spans native DSD512 and PCM up to 768kHz/32-bit. THD+N is as low as 0.000075%, with SNR and DNR reaching 129dB — allowing even the finest musical details to emerge with clarity and ease against a genuinely quiet background.
Dual Ultra-Low Phase-Noise Clock System
The DMP-A8 Gen 2 adopts a dual ultra-low phase-noise clock system for a stable timing reference with reduced jitter. Temperature control minimises the impact of environmental variations on frequency stability, improving timebase accuracy at the source. The I/O interface section also supports adaptive external 10MHz clock input, enabling integration with professional-grade standalone clock systems for those building reference-level setups.
