Stereo and Mono — One Amplifier, Two Personalities

The PA-10 EVO's most compelling capability is its dual operating mode. In stereo configuration, it delivers 2 × 140 watts into 8Ω — or 2 × 140 watts into 4Ω — with a sound that is controlled, detailed, and musically engaging across the full range of programme material. Pair two PA-10 EVO units as monoblocks, and each channel receives the full 280 watts of a dedicated amplifier — with the channel separation, power reserve, and low-frequency authority that only a true monoblock configuration can deliver.

For those beginning with a single unit in stereo and wishing to expand, the upgrade path is clear: add a second PA-10 EVO, switch both to mono, and unlock a level of performance that would otherwise require a substantially larger investment.

Adjustable Damping Factor — Matched to Any Loudspeaker

The PA-10 EVO includes a switchable damping factor — High (250) or Low (25) — allowing the amplifier to be optimally matched to virtually any loudspeaker design. High damping (250) provides firm, precise control over the speaker's bass drivers — ideal for ported designs, large floor-standers, and bass-heavy material that rewards tight, well-controlled low-frequency performance. Low damping (25) softens the amplifier's grip on the bass drivers, producing a warmer, more relaxed character — often preferred with sealed-box designs, stand-mount speakers, and more intimate musical styles.

This flexibility makes the PA-10 EVO genuinely compatible with everything from compact mini-monitors to demanding 3-way floor-standing designs — with the correct sonic character for each, at the flick of a switch.

Fully Balanced Architecture — XLR and RCA Inputs

The PA-10 EVO's fully balanced internal architecture is reflected in its input stage: both balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs are provided, with input sensitivity of 2.5Vrms on both connections. Input impedance of 3.6kΩ (RCA) and 7.2kΩ (XLR) ensures compatibility with a wide range of preamplifiers, integrated amplifiers, and source components with variable outputs — including the Gold Note DS-5.2 streaming DAC when used in preamplifier mode.

GN Link — Master-Slave System Integration

GN Link technology allows the PA-10 EVO to be switched on and off automatically by a connected Gold Note source component in master-slave mode. The amplifier powers up when the source powers up, and powers down when the source powers down — removing the need for manual switching and enabling a seamlessly integrated, system-level approach to power management.
