778CDT — The Disc Player Done Right

The 778CDT approaches CD playback with the seriousness the format deserves. A high-end mechanism with precision optical system and servo control ensures stable, accurate reading of every disc. A TCXO (temperature-compensated crystal oscillator) master clock minimises jitter at the source — delivering a cleaner, more stable SPDIF signal to the 778S's DAC input than a standard clock ever could. Dedicated low-noise power supplies for each circuit section — transport, laser, decoder, and clock — prevent cross-contamination between the digital and analogue domains.

Coaxial and optical SPDIF outputs ensure full compatibility with the 778S and any other DAC in the system. USB-A playback extends the 778CDT's usefulness beyond the disc library — FLAC, WAV, AIFF, ALAC, APE, and MP3 files stored on USB drives are all handled through the same TCXO-governed signal path.

778S — The Streaming Hub Done Right

The 778S is Mission's first wireless music streamer — and a remarkably complete one. Its ESS Sabre ES9038Q2M 32-bit DAC, with HyperStream architecture and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator, handles every source with exceptional precision: THD below 0.001%, SNR exceeding 120dB via the balanced XLR outputs, and precision upsampling to 352.8kHz or 384kHz that pushes digital artefacts beyond the audible spectrum.

Powered by a Silent Angel streaming platform (custom Mission implementation), the 778S is natively Roon Ready, AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, and Qobuz Connect compatible — with dual-band Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet, and the Mission 778S app for effortless control on iOS and Android. Five selectable DAC reconstruction filters allow sonic tailoring. Balanced XLR and RCA analogue outputs, coaxial and optical digital outputs, USB Audio output, and an onboard headphone amplifier complete a connectivity picture without compromise.
