Half a decade of innovation in one amplifier. The NAD M33 V2 combines second-generation Purifi Eigentakt™ amplification (200W/8Ω, 380W/4Ω), an ESS ES9039PRO DAC, MQA Labs FOQUS and QRONO timing technologies, a reference-grade MM/MC phono stage, Dirac Live® room correction (licence and calibration microphone included), BluOS® multi-room streaming, AirPlay 2, aptX HD Bluetooth, HDMI eARC, Roon Ready, and dual subwoofer outputs — in a Masters Series integrated amplifier with a 7-inch touchscreen and two MDC expansion slots. EISA Smart Amplifier 2026–27.
Half a Decade of Innovation, Unified
The original NAD M33 was one of the most celebrated integrated amplifiers of its generation. The M33 V2 doesn't simply iterate on that achievement — it rebuilds every stage of the audio path from a deeper understanding of what musical fidelity actually requires. More advanced signal conversion. More precise timing. A more evolved implementation of switching amplification. And a connectivity platform that has grown to match the complexity of how serious listeners actually use their systems today.
The result is an amplifier that earned the EISA Smart Amplifier award for 2026–27 — recognition that the M33 V2 represents the current state of the art in a category it helped define.
Second-Generation Eigentakt™ — 200W of Precision Amplification
The M33 V2's amplifier section uses second-generation Purifi Eigentakt™ modules — the most advanced switching amplification technology available, delivering 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms continuously (380 watts into 4 ohms) with THD below 0.003% from 20Hz to 20kHz across both loads. IHF dynamic power reaches 280W into 8 ohms and 560W into 4 ohms. Peak output current exceeds 25 amperes. Damping factor exceeds 800 into 8 ohms across the full 20Hz–6.5kHz band.
This translates not just to numbers but to musical behaviour: the M33 V2 maintains control across a wide range of loudspeakers, preserves the subtle shifts in dynamics and phrasing that give music its shape and expression, and delivers a presentation that feels composed and fully resolved even during complex passages.
The M33 V2 is also bridgeable with the M23 V2 power amplifier for bi-amplification — the M23 V2 delivers up to 700 watts per channel into 8 ohms in bridge mode, transforming the M33 V2 into a reference preamplifier/DAC/streamer driving a monoblock power stage of formidable capability.
ESS ES9039PRO DAC — FOQUS & QRONO Timing Technologies
The M33 V2's DAC section features the ESS ES9039PRO — a flagship-tier DAC chip selected for its improved detail retrieval and spatial accuracy across both digital and analogue sources. But conversion quality is only as good as the timing accuracy that surrounds it.
Research into human hearing demonstrates sensitivity to extremely small timing differences — differences that are audible as a sense of coherence and naturalness in music, or as a subtle smearing and loss of focus when timing errors are present. The M33 V2 incorporates two technologies from MQA Labs specifically to address this: FOQUS and QRONO. Together, they reduce timing errors during conversion, helping maintain the natural alignment and flow of musical elements so that recordings sound more cohesive and lifelike.
The M33 V2 also incorporates an upgraded next-generation ADC for improved performance with analogue sources — ensuring that line-level inputs and the phono stage benefit from the same precision as the digital path.
Reference-Grade MM/MC Phono Stage
The M33 V2's built-in phono stage supports both Moving Magnet and Moving Coil cartridges with accurate RIAA equalisation and an infrasonic filter. MM input sensitivity is 5mV with 25.6kΩ/180pF input impedance and SNR exceeding 93dB. MC input sensitivity is 370µV with 100Ω/280pF impedance and SNR exceeding 73dB. RIAA accuracy is ±0.2dB from 20Hz to 20kHz. THD+N is below 0.003% for MM and below 0.03% for MC.
This is a phono stage that takes vinyl playback seriously — and in the context of an amplifier at this level, that is exactly what the turntable deserves.
Dirac Live® — Included Licence and Calibration Microphone
Every M33 V2 includes a Dirac Live® Limited Bandwidth room correction licence and calibration microphone — active and ready to use from the moment the amplifier is set up. Dirac Live analyses your listening room's acoustic character and applies mathematically optimised correction filters that address room-induced colouration, frequency imbalances, and timing anomalies — improving bass accuracy, tonal clarity, and soundstage stability across all listening positions.
Dirac Live Bass Control — an optional licence upgrade — extends room correction to dual subwoofer outputs with adjustable crossovers, enabling precise integration of one or two subwoofers into the main system for accurate, seamless low-frequency performance. The M33 V2 features dual high-voltage subwoofer outputs to support this.
BluOS® — The World's Leading Hi-Resolution Multi-Room Platform
BluOS® is NAD's (and Lenbrook's) own high-resolution multi-room streaming platform — the same platform used by Bluesound, NAD, and PSB across their entire range. The M33 V2's BluOS module provides streaming at up to 192kHz/24-bit, with support for every major streaming service: Spotify, TIDAL, Qobuz, Amazon Music, Deezer, and many more. Internet radio via TuneIn, iHeartRadio, and other services is also supported.
Multi-room capability allows the M33 V2 to synchronise playback with any other BluOS-enabled device in the home — creating a genuinely high-resolution whole-home audio network. Integration partners include Roon, Control4, Crestron, ELAN, and Lutron for custom installation environments.
AirPlay 2 and aptX HD Bluetooth 5.0 (two-way — receive and headphone modes) provide additional wireless source options alongside BluOS. HDMI eARC allows TV audio to be routed through the M33 V2 with a single cable connection.
A 7-inch full-colour touchscreen on the front panel provides clear, direct access to playback, streaming services, volume, and system settings. The SRM 1 remote control is included.
MDC — Modular Design Construction
Two MDC (Modular Design Construction) expansion slots allow the M33 V2 to evolve as technology advances — accommodating future connectivity or processing modules without replacing the amplifier itself. This is NAD's commitment to longevity: the M33 V2 is designed to remain capable and relevant as systems grow and standards change.
