Internally, it features a refined digital-to-analogue stage built around the Wolfson WM8742 DAC, paired with improved discrete output circuitry and low-noise power supplies. Sonically, the Apollo-R is known for its natural tonal balance, excellent rhythmic flow, and smooth yet detailed presentation. Please note that this Rega Apollo-R CD player does seem to have a common quirk found with these models, it requires a few minutes to warm up before it plays properly. Once warmed up it seems to play nicely.
