Music-subwoofer driver speed, retuned for film, is what makes this pre-loved REL a serious route to cinema bass.
The fast driver technology is carried over from the T series music subs, and the aim is a quick, controlled bass response that keeps pace with busy effects work. The home theatre tune shifts the emphasis towards the sudden low-frequency hits of action scenes, so that impact comes first rather than sustained music bass. The 12-inch driver is the size the HT series uses to deliver that impact.
It suits a film-focused home theatre where the owner wants weight in the low end and is comfortable with a purpose-built cinema tune rather than a music-first sub.
