Full SACD Support — Proprietary Disc System

The SCD3.3 features a fully proprietary SACD system built around Shanling's HD850 top-loading disc mechanism, developed entirely in-house. This bespoke system delivers the full quality of each SACD disc, bringing true DSD audio to both its internal DAC and digital outputs — a capability that sets it apart from virtually all competitors at this level. It plays SACD, MQA-CD and standard CD, with true SACD DSD output preserved throughout the signal chain.

Second-Generation In-House 24-Bit R2R DAC

The SCD3.3's DAC module is Shanling's own — not an off-the-shelf chip solution. The second-generation R2R assembly uses 212 ultra-precision 0.01% resistors arranged in a 24-bit configuration, with FPGA-controlled serial-to-parallel data conversion feeding four discrete 24-bit R2R ladders in a fully balanced, differential layout. The result is smooth, natural R2R sound with true high-resolution capability.

12AT7 Tube Output Stage — Classic Rich Sound

A pair of 12AT7 vacuum tubes are integrated into the output stage, imparting the warmth, harmonic richness and three-dimensional soundstage that only valve amplification can provide. This is not a cosmetic addition — it is a fundamental part of the SCD3.3's sonic character and a deliberate engineering choice.

True DSD Digital Output — FPGA-Assisted I2S

The SCD3.3 features true DSD digital output via its FPGA-assisted I2S interface, with 10 configuration modes to ensure compatibility with virtually any I2S-capable DAC on the market. Additional digital outputs include DoP over Coaxial SPDIF, providing flexibility for those wishing to use the SCD3.3 as a transport into an external DAC.

Deeply Optimised Audio Circuit

Chasing true high fidelity, Shanling has meticulously selected every component in the SCD3.3's signal path. Highlights include the premium MUSES8920E op-amp, dual precision crystal oscillators at 45MHz and 49MHz for ultra-low jitter, a dedicated 66W dual R30 transformer combined with a 15W power module, and premium-grade capacitors throughout. The result is a deeply optimised circuit delivering 117dB dynamic range and 117dB signal-to-noise ratio.
