Combining a DAC and the STAX drive in one compact desktop chassis, it lets electrostatic owners run digital sources straight into their headphones without a separate converter.
The USB input handles DSD128 and PCM up to 384kHz, and optical and coaxial inputs take signal from a streamer or transport, so the source can change without changing the box. The amplifier stage uses discrete components carried over from classical STAX amplifier design, so the aim is continuity with that lineage. A standard STAX 5-pin connector accepts every STAX headphone, so one unit can serve the whole range. A level meter tracks the input signal.
