TZ2540MG — The New Horn Tweeter

The most significant acoustic innovation in the Solstice series is the new TZ2540MG tweeter — a 25mm barrel-shaped magnesium alloy horn driver that represents a meaningful step forward in Triangle's tweeter engineering.

Two new acoustic architectures have been developed specifically for this driver: a new phase plug that optimises the dispersion of high frequencies across the listening field, and a horn with an improved profile and a barrel-shaped mouth that manages the transition from the compression driver to the listening room with greater precision and lower coloration than conventional dome designs. The result is high-frequency reproduction that is extended, refined, and remarkably free from the harshness or brightness that lesser tweeters can introduce — airy and detailed where the recording demands it, restrained and natural where it does not.

Natural Cellulose Midwoofer — Enlarged Radiating Surface

The 16cm midwoofer at the heart of the Solstice 8's frequency range is built around a new die-cast aluminium basket with an arch-shaped structure specifically developed for the Solstice series. This highly acoustically neutral basket geometry minimises resonance and diffraction — allowing the driver's paper cone to operate with greater freedom and accuracy. A new rear-glueing system increases the radiating surface area of the membrane and improves the linearity of its sound reproduction, producing a midrange that is immediate, present, and naturally textured.

Two Woofers — Foundation Without Limit

Low frequencies in the Solstice 8 are handled by two 16cm woofers with concave cones and no dust cap — a design that combines visual elegance with acoustic performance. The open, unobstructed cone face reduces diffraction and distortion, while the concave profile provides improved pistonic behaviour across the woofer's operating range. Together, these two drivers give the Solstice 8 a bass foundation capable of reproducing both the scale of a large orchestra and the energy and visceral impact of contemporary music — with definition, control, and genuine authority.

The base conceals a laminar bass-reflex port — a first for Triangle — that reduces flow noise while ensuring dynamic and perfectly controlled low-frequency output. Its dual-material construction combines a cast iron honeycomb structure with a thick silicone layer that absorbs vibrations and mechanically decouples the speaker from the floor. A 2-degree forward tilt optimises the speaker's directionality, widening the listening field while giving the cabinet a sleeker and more stable visual presence. Adjustable metal spikes and counter-spikes complete the picture — ensuring excellent stability on any floor surface.

Double Terminal Block — Bi-Wiring & Bi-Amping Ready
