The Yaesu Musen FRG-7 is a vintage solid-state communications receiver, renowned for its robust performance and reliability. Manufactured between 1976 and 1980, it offers a wide frequency coverage from 0.5 MHz to 29.9 MHz, encompassing shortwave and medium wave bands.
Utilizing a triple conversion superheterodyne design with the Wadley Loop oscillator, the FRG-7 ensures stable frequency reception and minimal drift. It supports AM, SSB, and CW modes, making it versatile for various communication needs.
The receiver's analog tuning provides a continuous frequency range with 10 kHz readout, and its front-end features include an automatic noise limiter (ANL), DX/Local switch, and tone control switch. For enthusiasts seeking enhanced precision, an optional fine-tuning modification is available.
