Marantz Amplifiers

Marantz amplifiers in our range do three jobs: stereo integrated amplifiers for a two-channel hi-fi, streaming amplifiers that bring network music and TV sound into one box, and multichannel power amplifiers for home theatre. The company began in New York in 1953, when Saul Marantz built a preamplifier for his own record collection, and a phono stage still sits in most of the stereo range.

Stereo integrated amplifiers

The PM6007 keeps things simple, with 45 watts per channel, a toroidal power transformer, a built-in phono preamp and a subwoofer output. The Model 30 is built around Marantz's HDAM modules in a fully discrete, two-stage design. The Model 50 takes a purely analogue route, with 70 watts per channel of Current Feedback Class A/B amplification, no digital audio circuitry, a phono stage and a power amp direct input for joining an AV system.

The MODEL 70 brings modern sources to 50 watts per channel of Class A/B amplification, with HDMI ARC, Bluetooth, an MM phono stage, a built-in DAC for optical and coaxial inputs, and a headphone output. The Model 10 is the reference integrated: dual-mono, fully balanced circuitry with XLR inputs, an MM and MC phono stage with selectable MC loading, and pre-out and power amp direct connections so it can later become the front end of a separates system. Streaming amplifiers with HEOS

The Model 40n and Model 60n are integrated amplifiers with HEOS Built-in streaming and HDMI, so the TV can share the speakers. The Model 60n has a CD input and an MM phono stage, while the Model 40n has Marantz's Musical Phono EQ and tone controls. The Stereo 70s is the slimline option, with 8K HDMI inputs and ARC, dual subwoofer outputs, a phono input and an FM/DAB+ tuner.

The MODEL M1 squeezes streaming, HDMI eARC and a subwoofer output with adjustable crossover filters into a compact box rated at 100 watts per channel. The MODEL M4 is a rack-mountable, four-zone distribution amplifier with eight channels and its own HEOS streamer for each zone, plus control connections for home automation systems. Home theatre power amplifiers

For home theatre separates, a Marantz power amplifier takes the signal from an AV preamplifier and drives the speakers. The AMP 30 is a slimline six-channel design, the AMP20 has 12 channels and the AMP 10 has 16, all rated at 200 watts per channel, and they can be combined to cover larger speaker layouts. Questions we get asked

Does the Marantz Model 50 stream?

No. The Model 50 has no digital audio circuitry at all, by design, so it's an analogue amplifier with a phono stage and a power amp direct input. If you want streaming built in, the Model 40n, Model 60n, Stereo 70s and MODEL M1 all have it.

What is the Marantz AMP 30 used for?

It powers a surround system alongside an AV preamplifier. Each of its six channels is rated at 200 watts into 8 ohms and 400 watts into 4 ohms, and selectable bi-amp and BTL modes let the same channels suit different speaker arrangements.

Is the Stereo 70s an AV receiver?

It's a two-channel streaming amplifier rather than a surround receiver, though it borrows plenty from one. HDMI inputs, ARC, an on-screen display and dual subwoofer outputs let a TV, games console and streaming run through one pair of speakers.
