SVS Subwoofers

SVS subwoofers in our range run from the compact, sealed 3000 Micro R|Evolution to the 17-inch SB17-Ultra R|Evolution and PB17-Ultra R|Evolution, with in-wall models for rooms where the floor is already spoken for. Most are tuned from the SVS smartphone app, so the real choices are cabinet type, driver size and the size of your room.

Sealed or ported, model by model

A sealed cabinet uses trapped air as a spring behind the cone, aiming for tight, controlled bass from a smaller box. A ported cabinet adds a tuned vent, designed for deeper extension and more output, at the cost of a bigger enclosure.

The SB-1000, SB-3000 R|Evolution, SB-5000 R|Evolution, SB17-Ultra R|Evolution and 3000 Micro R|Evolution are sealed designs. The PB-1000 is ported, the PB-1000 Pro and PB-3000 use dual-port cabinets, the PC-2000 Pro puts its 12-inch driver in a ported cylinder, and the PB-4000 offers three port tuning modes. The PB-3000 R|Evolution comes with port plugs, so it can run either way, and the PB-5000 R|Evolution is the ported 15-inch partner to the SB-5000 R|Evolution.

Compact SVS subwoofers for smaller rooms

The SB-1000 puts a front-firing 12-inch driver in a sealed cabinet with a Sledge STA-300D amplifier. The SB-1000 Pro has a 12-inch driver in a 13-inch enclosure, a 325 watt RMS Sledge amplifier, a 50MHz DSP and app control. The SB-2000 Pro moves up to a 550 watt RMS Sledge STA-550D in a cabinet about 15 inches on each side.

For the smallest footprint, the 3000 Micro R|Evolution uses two opposing 9-inch drivers whose forces cancel, designed to keep the cabinet still, plus a balanced XLR input for long cable runs. The 3000 Micro fits an 800 watt RMS Sledge amplifier into a 10-inch cabinet.

Bigger rooms: 2000 to 5000 and Ultra

The PB-2000 Pro and PC-2000 Pro pair a 12-inch driver with 550 watts RMS. The 13-inch PB-3000 and SB-3000 run an 800 watt RMS Sledge STA-800D2, while the PB-3000 R|Evolution and SB-3000 R|Evolution step up to a 1,200 watt amplifier and a 295MHz DSP.

The PB-5000 R|Evolution and SB-5000 R|Evolution use a 15-inch driver with dual voice coils and a 2,000 watt continuous dual monoblock amplifier, one side for each coil. At the top, the SB17-Ultra R|Evolution and PB17-Ultra R|Evolution drive a 17-inch cone through two 8-inch voice coils, each with its own amplifier. The SB17-Ultra weighs 56kg, so plan the room around it.

In-wall SVS for custom installs

The 3000 In-Wall Single is designed to fit between standard wall studs, with two 9-inch drivers and an 800 watt RMS STA-800D2 rack-mount amplifier. The 3000 In-Wall Dual uses the Sledge STA-800D2C, which splits 800 watts evenly, aimed at a more even bass response across the room. Both are app controlled, within our custom install subwoofers.

Questions we get asked

What does R|Evolution mean on an SVS subwoofer?

It names SVS's newer R|Evolution generation, and the PB-3000, SB-3000 and 3000 Micro come in both versions. The PB-3000 runs an 800 watt RMS amplifier, while the PB-3000 R|Evolution has a 1,200 watt continuous amplifier and the 295MHz DSP it shares with other R|Evolution models.

Can I tune an SVS from my phone?

On most models, yes. On the 3000 Micro R|Evolution, the app covers volume, phase, polarity and six parametric equalisers, and the PB-3000 R|Evolution and PB-5000 R|Evolution store three presets, so film and music settings can sit side by side.

Do SVS subwoofers suit music as well as home theatre?

Many are designed for both, the SB-5000 R|Evolution among them. How well a sub blends depends on placement and crossover with your speakers, and that is where we help.
